1. Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act. Do not say to your neighbor, “Come back later; I’ll give it tomorrow”- when you have it with you.

    — Proverbs 3:28

  2. 1 Timothy 4:12

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young,

but set an example for them in your

    - speech

    - life

    - love

    - faith

    - purity.

  3. SEEK: To be in a continual process of striving for and/or searching after.

  4. Attractiveness

Lately I’ve been thinking about how it looks to love like Jesus does and how incredibly attractive that is.

    Who wouldn’t want someone to:
    - be genuinely concerned about them
    - show them kindness
    - serve them
    - see them as better than themselves
    - forgive their offenses
    - not expect anything from them in return

If we can love the people in our lives like this, what an awesome testimony for the Lord that would be.

When I stand before God’s throne
    Nothing hidden, nothing unknown
Dead to my body, my old life He took
God will hold in His hands my days in a book.

When I kneel down that day
    Looking upon His holy face
    I will remember with trembling
    Every single moment, every memory.

Who am I and where am I going?
What kind of fruit are my actions growing?
    Staring at the pages
You are staring at the pages of my life.
Is my passion just to know You?
Am I living this life to show You?
    Staring at the pages
You are staring at the pages of my life.

  6. If the Lord be with us, we have no cause of fear. His eye is upon us, His arm over us, His ear open to our prayer - His grace sufficient, His promise unchangeable.

  7. Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the Lord.
There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.
Listen, my son, and be wise, and keep your heart on the right path.

    — Proverbs 23:17-19

  8. Church today

Call it a ‘rough patch’ I’m going through… some things are hard, but I know trusting God is the answer. But have I been doing this right? Not fully. Not like I want to.

    Romans 5:3-5

“…we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;  perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us …”

That, and my pastor said this today:

Our struggles and trials today should remind us of the perfection that awaits us in the future- with our Savior and Father in Heaven.

Man… I want to view my struggles through this lens. Lord, help me.

  9. I hear the Savior say,
    ‘Thy strength indeed is small.
Child of weakness watch and pray,
find in Me thine all and all.’

  11. God Wins

    Proverbs 16:9
In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.

    Proverbs 21:30
There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed again the Lord.

    And so…

    Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.

  12. Still haven’t seen the movie Fireproof… but I like this song.

  13. Patience…

I was reading a bit about the Israelites’ time in the dessert this morning… about how they all followed this “cloud” that was basically God leading them where they should go. (Ex. 13:21)

    Numbers 9:15-23

15 On the day the tabernacle, the Tent of the Testimony, was set up, the cloud covered it. From evening till morning the cloud above the tabernacle looked like fire.
17Whenever the cloud lifted from above the Tent, the Israelites set out; wherever the cloud settled, the Israelites encamped.
22 Whether the cloud stayed over the tabernacle for two days or a month or a year, the Israelites would remain in camp and not set out; but when it lifted, they would set out. 23 At the Lord’s command they encamped, and at the Lord’s command they set out.

These guys didn’t move unless the cloud (God) moved first… they didn’t always know how long they would have to wait in a particular place, but they had no choice other than to trust the Lord and His leading.

I want to learn a lesson from this… to 1) practice not moving until He moves, and 2) work on being patient in my waiting even when I don’t know what time frame He’s got in mind.
